House of Lords Record Office
Most parliamentary records relating to railway acts of parliament are deposited at the House of Lords Record Office:

National Archives
Many railway company archives are held by The National Archives: for example, the LMS and LNER archives were transferred to the British Transport Commission on nationalisation. Business and administration records are held at Kew but technical records relating to locomotives and rolling stock and the photographic collections held at the National Rail Museum in York
